    Question

    Hi everyone,just wanted to ask for an advice:I need a camcorder something like Sony DCR/VX 2000 for three months but I cant afford it,is it possible to rent it somehow?Thanks beforehand

    You certainly can. 3 months does sound like a long time though...

    Calumet are excellent for renting (and buying) all types of camera equipment.

    you'll need an account at Callumet though.

    Hire equipmnent can be poorly maintained and the batteries life could be suspect.

    Then of course your gonna have a load of tapes and you'll need to have the footage captured. for edit, which will cost money.

    think about the potential hidden costs.

    I think you'll find that 90 days rent adds up to more than it would cost to buy one. Try buying one, possibly used, and then selling it when you are done. I know this means you have to come up with a big piece of change up front but ...

    Yes, you might want to rethink your 3 months thing - do you really need to hire for that long in one go? Most Hollywood feature-length shoots are only a few weeks.
